A Hug From The Inside
You didn’t bring presents, you brought peace instead
A thermos of kindness, a crown made of thread
You said I’m not shiny, I’m more of a glow
And wrapped me in silence that melted the snow
While the world decked its halls in a glittering race
You found me in flannel and gave me your grace
You’re a hug from the inside, a whisper in wool
A flicker of truth when the season gets full
No ribbons, no reindeer, no sleigh bells to hide
Just love in its simplest, a hug from the inside
We skipped all the parties, made cocoa for two
Watched reruns of snowstorms and laughed till we knew
You read me your wishes in scribbled outlines
And kissed every scar like it shimmered with pines
So here’s to the quiet, the soft-spoken cheer
To the way you make Christmas feel honest and near
To the warmth that you bring without sparkle or sound
To the way that you hold me when no one’s around
You’re a hug from the inside, my holiday balm
A carol in stillness, a blanket of calm
No glitter, no grandeur, no sleigh to confide
Just you and your heartbeat, a hug from the inside
So if the lights flicker or the world feels too wide
I’ll find you in quiet, a hug from the inside
So if the lights flicker or the world feels too wide
I’ll find you in quiet, a hug from the inside
Thank you for watching!
