This song goes out to those seniors who still have it together and live it to the fullest. We all need to show them the respect they’ve earned over their lifetime.

I also enjoy photography, videography and editing. I hope you enjoy my video debut.

Still Got The Crown

They were legends in lawn chairs, queens of the bake,
Kings of the shuffleboard, lords of the lake.
With bingo night battles and dance floor delight,
They ruled every sunrise and laughed through the night.

They wore polyester like armor of old,
Told tales of the sixties both tender and bold.
With dentures like daggers and hips full of sass,
They’d two-step through Tuesdays and toast every glass.

Still got the crown, still run the roost,
Still tell the best tales and still brag the most.
They may trade their porch for a hallway view,
But the throne rolls with them, and the legends do too.

Then one day the letter came crisp and polite:
“Your new suite awaits—bring your meds and your light.”
They packed up the memories, the vinyl, the jam,
And rolled into Riverview like a rock ‘n’ roll band.

Oh, the nurses were nervous, the staff took a bow,
As the old folk arrived with their swagger and wow.
They rewrote the rules and they spiced up the stew,
Turned the rec room into a ballroom with a view.

Now the halls echo laughter, the shuffleboard sings,
And the chessboard’s a battlefield fit for old kings.
They host midnight poker and sunrise debates,
And still sneak out cookies on silverware plates.

Still got the crown, still stir the pot,
Still dance like the devil and flirt like they ought.
They may live in a home, but don’t be misled—
They’re the rulers of Riverview, long may they tread.

So raise up your teacup, your cane, or your shoe,
To the elders who sparkle and still break the rules.
For age is a number, and sass is a flame—
And the crown fits just fine, whatever the name.
